ABOUT PROJECT

The automotive industry has always been a steady provider of a wide variety of jobs in Europe. During the Covid-19 pandemic, vehicle production fell sharply and is not expected to recover to its former level. The question therefore arises whether the automotive industry will continue with this trend in the future, or how much the job market in this sector will change with the advent of electromobility. On the other hand, it is expected that electric vehicles will play a significant role in car production, following the current urgency and system changes to achieve zero carbon emissions.

The POWER-UP project aims to accelerate the transition to e-mobility and to prepare students in vocational schools and apprenticeships in relevant industries for the changes in the automotive industry that will bring with them changes in the labour market.

Who is the POWER-UP training program intended for?

Vocational education teachers, trainers, and lecturers of vocational subjects as car mechanics, autotronics, electrical engineering and similar subjects or programmes.

Students and apprentices of vocational subjects that study autotronics, electrical engineering and similar programmes.

Broader public, including for instance parents of the students, representatives of companies in the car industry, relevant local or regional bodies.

Our program is designed to anticipate and meet the evolving market needs in Europe’s electric mobility sector.

The primary goal of the POWER-UP project is threefold:

Comprehensive Learning Program:

Develop a sophisticated learning program tailored for VET teachers and trainers specializing in electric mobility and e-transition. This program should encompass educational materials, resources, and activities designed to enhance their knowledge, skills, and competencies.

Teacher Upskilling:

By empowering teachers and trainers with the latest information and instructional techniques related to e-mobility, sustainable transportation practices, and related technologies, we can ensure that they are proficient in conveying this critical information to students and learners of all ages.

Empowering Apprentices and Students:

Prepare students for the future. Equip apprentices and vocational students with essential competencies, proactively preparing them for the evolving automotive landscape and preventing them from being left behind in the future labor market.
